Microblading in Eastbourne

Microblading explained

Microblading is a semi-permanent tattooing procedure for eyebrows that is becoming increasingly popular because of the defined but natural results it produces. The procedure is carried out by a qualified beauty technician and works by implanting a colour pigment under the top layer of skin (the epidermis) using a specialist hand tool and sterile disposable blades which create natural, hair-like strokes.
Maria and Stephanie our top beauty therapists have been transforming brows for over 7 years and we are the first salon to offer Microblading in Eastbourne.

How does microblading work?

The hand tool that is used contains a set of ultra-fine needles that are used to place colour pigment under the epidermis using brush like strokes which very closely mimic fine hair strokes. Because the pigment is placed under the top layer of skin, the result is semi-permanent as opposed to eyebrow tattooing which penetrates deeper into the skin layers.

How long does microblading last?

A microblading procedure typically lasts between 18 months and 2 years. The tattoo fades out slowly and therefore naturally. If desired, a refresh treatment can be carried out in this period.

What is the microblading procedure?

Treatment is always preceded with a patch test 24 hours prior to the treatment to ensure no allergic reaction is experienced. A complementary consultation is also provided to run through any medical conditions and to conduct a symmetry assessment of your natural brow.

In the first stage of the actual procedure, the therapist will use a removable white pencil to stencil a natural brow shape that is scaled to the size of the face and natural contour of the brow bone which is then approved by the client before the microblading commences.
A light anaesthetic cream is then applied to the eyebrow area before the hand tool is used to apply the chosen organic colour pigment that best matches the client’s natural colour or the colour they wish to use. The fine strokes made help to create a natural looking brow.
Please be advised that this is a two-part treatment so you will be required to return 6 weeks after your first treatment for a touch up ( this is included in the price).

The results

Microblading produces a natural yet fuller looking brow. Within the first two weeks of treatment the brow will appear a little darker, but this will fade. Differing skin types can affect the uptake of the pigment, so it is important that the touch up procedure is performed after 6 weeks to ensure the pigment has fully taken.

Is microblading suitable for everyone?

Microblading is suitable for most people, however there are some medical conditions that may disqualify a person from treatment such as pregnancy, diabetes or other blood diseases. Such conditions will be covered in the initial consultation, but if you have any concerns, you should consult with your GP before booking a treatment.

Who can benefit from microblading?

Eyebrows very much define a face and so are an important facial feature for many people. The semi-permanency of microblading makes it an ideal treatment for those who want to correct their eyebrows for cosmetic or medical reasons. For example, it is great for those who:
 have a natural brow shape they do not like and want to redefine
 have over-plucked
 have lost hair due to conditions such as alopecia or menopause
 have little time to focus on make up application
Depending on your taste, we can create any look from a natural light finish to a highly defined and bold brow (this may require 3 sessions depending on the condition of your brow initially). Sparse or missing brows can be completely restored.

Does microblading hurt?

Microblading is relatively painless since the procedure utilises a topical anaesthetic which can be easily topped up during the procedure as and when required.

How much does it cost?

Microblading costs £240.00 which includes consultation, initial procedure, an aftercare package and a refresh colour boost after 6 weeks.

Book in for a free consultation where we can go through any questions you have, if you are happy to proceed a patch test will be given and appointment can be booked.
